How much do lessons cost?

Teachers set their own prices. Rates vary by teacher, instrument, and lesson format. You can see each teacher's rate on their profile before you book.

Do you offer in-person lessons?

Yes. Teachers can offer in-person lessons, live video lessons, and pre-recorded courses. You can filter by lesson type when browsing teachers.

How are payments handled?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You only pay for confirmed lessons. Your payment details are never stored on Sonaru's servers.

How are teachers paid?

Teachers receive 80% of every lesson fee. Payments are processed after a lesson is completed and managed through the teacher's dashboard.

Can I message a teacher before booking?

Yes. You can send a message to any teacher before committing to a booking. Use this to ask questions, discuss your goals, or check availability.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

Cancellation policies are set by each teacher and are shown at the time of booking. Please review the policy before you book.

What happens if a teacher cancels?

If a teacher cancels a confirmed lesson, you will receive a full refund. You can then rebook with the same teacher or find a new one.

Are teachers employees of Sonaru?

No. All teachers on Sonaru are independent freelancers. They set their own rates, availability, and teaching style. Sonaru provides the platform and tools.

Can I teach on Sonaru?

Yes. Click 'Teach with us' to create a teacher profile. You'll need a Working With Children (WWC) check and public liability insurance. Once verified by our team, your profile goes live.

Is the platform suitable for minors?

Yes, but minors must have parental or guardian consent to use Sonaru. All teachers are verified with a Working With Children check before their profile is published.
